When your host Tracey is a paragliding enthusiest who has created a luxury wedding venue full of worldly art, you know you've found your perfect place. If you're like me that is!

Zatori (created by taking two letters from each of Tracey's children's names: Zara + Tor + Ari) is a wedding venue with lodge accommodation and restaurant in Collingwood, Golden Bay. Perched on high ground, this hidden gem has expansive views overlooking Collingwood estuary towards Farewell Spit.

It is perfect for couples who love art and adventure in the great outdoors.

Tracey who was born and bred in Golden Bay, explored the globe before returning to her roots. She converted the former hospital and rest home into the luxury lodge you see today.

For lovers of modern art

The walls are covered with stunning modern artworks Tracey found in far-flung corners of the map whilst backpacking. She lovingly tucked them under her arm, and brought them home.

For lovers of adventure

Zatori is located near the start of the one way 2-5 day Heaphy Track, one of Aotearoa New Zealand's Great Walks. The track can be biked during the season as well as tramped/hiked year round. What a cool idea: marry at Zatori and complete the track for your honeymoon!

Adventure activities including kayaking to the nearby pub (Collingwood Tavern aka Tinky's); scenic flights of Golden Bay with Golden Bay Air; Farewell Spit Eco Tours; tramping in Able Tasman National Park; horse trekking and plenty more.

On site accommodation and restaurant

One of the major benefits of Zatori is the on site accommodation and whole food restaurant (with excellent local wine list!).

There is accommodation for up to 28 people including the main lodge honeymoon suit, ensuite rooms; and up-market backpacker style rooms with shared facilities.

Additional relaxing features are in-house massage therapist, hot tub, wood fired sauna and outdoor bath from which to enjoy the sunset.

Zatori is effortlessly flexible and suits couples planning a range of wedding styles from intimate elopements to 200 guest marquees-on-the-lawn.

Luxury destination elopement

Imagine your helicopter landing on the lawn. Stay in your luxury suite ready for your big day. Enjoy a relaxing massage on the morning of your marriage. Experience a heartfelt outdoor ceremony followed by a private dinner for two as the sun sets over the bay. Time for a swift dip in the ocean before breakfast and flying back to real life.

Micro wedding

Weddings of up to 28 people can all stay onsite. No stress. No rush. Bliss. Make a wedding long weekend with quality time together before during and after your wedding. Marquee wedding

The large lawn can accommodate a marquee for up to 200 people. Design and DIY to your hearts content to make the space yours. A full commercial kitchen and luxury bathroom facilities on site takes a lot of logistical stress out of planning a marquee wedding. Stay in the master suite mere steps away from your reception venue.

Getting to Zatori

Golden Bay Air flies direct into Takaka, connecting Wellington, Nelson and the end of the Heaphy track Karamea on the West Coast.

Collingwood is a stunning 2 hour drive from Nelson over the Takaka Hill.

Golden Bay is a popular destination for couples travelling in campervans and motorhomes. Experience the luxury of fresh towels, flushing toilets and not doing the washing up!
