We have Sarah booked for our wedding, but have just had an engagement shoot done with her and oh my goodness, she is amazing. She was so easy to be photographed by, very relaxed, occasionally giving instructions but otherwise just left us to it. She followed us up and down the beach, climbed sank banks with us, the whole shabang. -Sian and Kris

One of the ways I help you feel relaxed on your wedding day (and avoid awkwardness!) is by really getting to know you before hand. I do this by catching up face-to-face (or via video call) and just chatting. I love learning about you, your love story and what you do in your daily lives.

All my wedding photography couples have an engagement shoot. This session allows you to see how I work and relax having your photo taken. Plus you'll have some gorgeous nature-based portraits to document this unique time in your lives: your engagement.

So when I turn up on the morning of your wedding, it feels like a new best friend just arrived.

How Lucalia Photography Engagement Portrait Sessions Work

  1. Book your session
To book your session please choose a time suitable for you from my calendar. Your engagement session is included in your wedding package.

  2. Take your photos
We spend an hour or so together documenting your natural love for each other at a location meaningful to you (or one of my favourites).

  3. Photo delivery
Edited digital images are delivered via download from a private online gallery, within 3 weeks.

  4. Printing
I strongly encourage you have your photos professionally printed. I highly recommend Masterton printer and framer Pete Nikolaison. Lucalia Photography couples and families receive special deals from Pete.

Be reminded of your love every day, by having photos displayed at home. Cathy Lander-Goldberg, a licensed clinical social worker says “Displaying photos prominently in the home sends the message that our family and those in it are important to one another, and we honor the memories we have experienced.”.

When children and family members view their own family photos, it boosts their self esteem and sense of worth to others. Moreover, everyone in the family feels positive when they see themselves when they’re happy.
