Wairarapa family photographer: playing outdoors

Max and Emilio are the cutest tri-lingual children I know!
Dad Luis and mum Helen speak both Spanish and English at home; whilst the kids learn Te Reo Māori at school. It was amazing to hear them saying words in different languages. I just wish I knew what they were saying!
I documented an outdoor play session with this sweet family in the afternoon golden light. We played on the grass, with little Max lying next to me wanting to take photos too, with his telescope. The boys were running up and down the hills in between cuddles with Mum; and Dad flinging them into the air to squeals of delight.
It was wonderful to capture the genuine interactions between family members. Helen was initially a little worried that the children wouldn't "behave" to be able to get a "nice" picture. Such concerns melt into insignificance as I document families as they naturally are.
I (Sarah) am a Wairarapa family photographer, documenting the love families have for each other. I accompany you on your trip, outing or picnic; enjoying every minute with you; which allows me to capture natural emotions as they occur. I leave you to it with very little direction.
These photos were originally created for an article in Wairarapa Lifestyle Magazine, Winter 2019 issue by Helen Cordery.
