Wairarapa engagement photography: Lauren and Ant, Castlepoint

engaged couple and their dog walking at Castlepoint, Wairarapa

"We were lucky enough to experience an engagement shoot with Sarah recently at Castlepoint. We hadn't warned Sarah that we were bringing along our little pup Reg but she took it in her stride and he even got some solo camera time!

Sarah made us feel incredibly relaxed and we loved sharing stories with her about our journey and her and her husbands. Sarah's informal and unposed photography style was perfect for us and she put us at ease getting some beautiful snaps that I didn't think we were capable of pulling off! Above all though, she seemed genuinely wrapt to be taking our photos and celebrating a small part of our journey with us. Thanks again, Lauren and Ant."

Thanks so much Lauren and Ant for being awesome and for your kind words! These two, along with their dog Reg who simply HAD to be in their engagement photos, are super down to earth.

We started our morning stroll from the car park at Castlepoint Scenic Reserve, through the pine forest. Lauren chose Castlepoint for their engagement photos because she has special childhood memories holidaying here with her grandfather. She took great delight in pointing out where they went fishing, to Ant. We emerged from the trees into the bright blue sunshine and walked up the narrow sloped track to the saddle. Stunning views greeted us down into the next bay and out to sea. On the return journey, once back in the pines there was tree climbing and rope swinging to be indulged in!

Lauren has a law background and has recently returned from doing charity work and trekking in Nepal. Ant has also been on an overseas adventure, guiding hunting tours in Canada. What incredible adventures creating memories to last a lifetime.

Lauren and Ant have been together a couple of years. Recently a casual conversation was had to agree to marry. No pomp or ceremony, no fireworks, treasure hunt of love poems or bended knee proposal. Just a general agreement that that's what they'd like to do. I love it! They will be married this year at Lauren's family farm in Levin. Needless to say their wedding will be a relaxed affair celebrating love, family, friends, good food and beer.
