Phoebe thought she might be "too pregnant" to have maternity portraits taken. I recommend having them taken between 30 and 35 weeks. When we captured Phoebe and her partner Daniel, she was due in 10 days time!
Phoebe said:
"I would love to have some professional photos of my first pregnancy - it’s such a special time for me and it would be awesome to capture it."
We worked together to choose Waihi Falls, Tararua as the location for her maternity photos. Phoebe loves waterfalls, nature and colourful flowers.
As it turned out, Phoebe is an incredible woman: not only did she look stunning so close to having a baby; but she walked down the steep gravel path to Waihi Falls AND back up again with no worries! There's certainly no way I would have been able to do that at the same stage!
Phoebe and I bonded as she is a fellow Aussie who has also been in New Zealand since 2018. Escaping heat and humidity is a common theme.
Dan was the perfect partner during our session holding Phoebe's hand when walking in the water and on the paths. He was super sweet when Phoebe suggested he kiss her belly (see heartfelt photo below!). And he helped her put her shoes back on for the walk up the stairs. I have no doubt you will be incredible parents.
UPDATE: Phoebe and Dan welcomed their baby boy into the world 12 days later. Congratulations guys!
