Family photos on the farm, Wairarapa

Family photos in a paddock with buttercups, Wairarapa family photographer

Aimee and Adam are incredibly hardworking young dairy farmers, and have just welcomed baby Tilly to the family. They invited me to their amazing property near Featherston, Wairarapa to create some family photos for them.

We started with some cuddles on the couch at home to relax and get used to being photographed. We then jumped in the ute and headed down a bumpy dirt road. We drove into the vibrant green paddocks and stopped in front of one filled with cows. I was amazed at the variety of colours dairy cows come in! As we entered the field, Adam asked whether I was scared of cows. Not at all this was great fun!

I also enthused about the yellow buttercups and how they would look lovely in their photos. It turns out cows don't like the taste and avoid eating them, therefore being frowned upon by farmers. Sorry Adam! But they do look great in the photos! I got particularly well acquainted with said buttercups as to get these shots I was literally lying face down in the cow field. All part of the job and I love it all.

Tilly wasn't feeling the happiest during the shoot, but when slung over dad's shoulder the smile came out. Aimee subconsciously matched Tilly's dress to her favourite cow, a nice touch from my point of view.

Upon returning to the house a quick outfit (and nappy!) change we took advantage of the natural light coming through the window. I just love Tilly's little hands grasping mum and dad's fingers with such love.

Thanks so much for inviting me to your fabulous home.
