I provide outdoorsy families who want to avoid fake poses, with documentary-style photos in the Wairarapa and Tararua regions, that can be passed down the generations.

I photograph families at all ages and stages: maternity, newborns at home or in the natural environment, families with babies, toddlers, tweens, teens, the young at heart, parents, grandparents even fur babies!

Is your favourite thing to do as a family getting active exploring the great outdoors? Anything really: bushwalking, camping, biking, four wheel driving and all the rest. You believe for kids especially, the huge physical and mental benefits of pushing personal boundaries being active outdoors. You love going on adventures together and bonding through shared nature-based experiences.

 

Hate Awkward Poses?

Is one of your greatest fears when having family photos taken being forced into poses and the kids won't look at the camera? I photograph families in a documentary-style. This means I capture what happens in front of me and keep an eye out for meaningful moments. Just like when the kids giggle uncontrollably because Jasmine farted; your son reaches up for cuddles like he does every day; and how dad plays chasings around the big trees. When we do try for a whole family portrait, I generally leave you to it with very little direction.

 

Authentic Memory

When you receive your family photos, you will see your genuine moments in your special place, preserved. They are unique to you and no-one else. These authentic memories you can pass down the generations. For they share a glimpse into what your family was like at this precise point in time. They grow up so fast.

How Lucalia Photography Portrait Sessions Work​

1. Review the price list
   The session fee is $100. This covers my time, equipment, knowledge, experience and petrol to take your photos.
   
   You will receive all edited digital images from your session. There will be at least 40 images (often up to 100!).
   
   All edited digital images are $600.
    

2. Book and pay for your session
   To book your session please choose a time suitable for you from my calendar. Your booking confirmation email will include bank transfer details for your payment.​
    

3. Take your photos
   We spend an hour or so together documenting your natural love for each other at a location meaningful to you (or one of my favourites).
    

4. Photo delivery
   Edited digital images are delivered via download from a private online gallery, within 3 weeks.
    

5. Printing
   I strongly encourage you have your photos professionally printed. I highly recommend Masterton printer and framer Pete Nikolaison. Lucalia Photography couples and families receive special deals from Pete.
   
   Be reminded of your love every day, by having photos displayed at home.
