Wairarapa family photographer: Tayla's Martinborough farm whānau

What could be cuter: two toddlers, mum, dad, dogs and a LAMB? Throw in some golden light at the farm and you've got Tayla's Wairarapa family photo shoot.

Tayla said when she booked me for their family photos:

"I feel that we need to have more photos as a family to capture the memories when the kids are young as time is flying so fast.".

Tayla's words are particularly poignant at the moment when treasured time with family is being highlighted.

Mum, dad, Jaxon and gorgeous little Marlie enjoyed showing me their expansive property.

We met the dogs, mostly who work with Ollie out in the fields every day. They bounded out of their kennels to greet everyone, thoroughly enjoying their freedom in the fresh morning air.

The dogs came with us as we walked down the sweeping driveway. Sometimes the kids were carried and cuddled; sometimes they walked by themselves and sometimes they held hands. Some mum's may be worried their kids “wont' behave” and look at the camera during your family photo session. Sure there were a couple of tears and grizzles. But they subsided and made way for authentic moments of tenderness and touch between family members that I find so beautiful to preserve.

Halfway down the drive Jaxon climbed a tree (with dad's help!). He was so cute sitting up high grinning his head off looking down on us all!

Back at the house, we played on the slide and swing with the pet lamb. I absolutely love the sweet interactions between brother and sister playing naturally together.

I'd love to hear from you if you're interested in capturing memories of your kids. Please feel free to contact me (Sarah) about your outdoor family photo shoot with no awkward poses, in the Wairarapa or Tararua regions.
