5 best Wairarapa wedding blog posts of 2019

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

Wow what a year 2019 was! I'm been super lucky to photograph so many wonderful couples in love in our beautiful region of the Wairarapa.

Here are the most popular Lucalia Photography blog posts of 2019. Interestingly they're all wedding related blog articles! Did you know I'm an outdoor portrait photographer for adventurous families too?

#5 Wairarapa engagement photography: Silvia and Jack, Tararua Forest Park

Jack and Silvia had their engagement photo session at Tauherenikau River, Bucks Road Campsite just outside of Featherston. We explored the river, went for a little bushwalk and danced under the trees! Such a fun couple to photograph.

#4 Mount Bruce Lodge: charming Wairarapa wedding accommodation

Julie and Philip have lovingly created a charming place to stay before, during and after your wedding in the Wairarapa. The three buildings that make up Mount Bruce Lodge have been restored from a derelict state, to now shine in a subtle 1950's style. This charming B&B is ideal for intimate wedding parties, parents and guests to get ready for the wedding and stay the night of, and beyond in the Wairarapa.

#3 Favourite outdoor Wairarapa wedding venues

This blog post outlines my favourite outdoor wedding venues in the Wairarapa. It's an ever-expanding list so keep checking back for more hidden gems! It's no secret I absolutely love PÅ«kaha National Wildlife Centre. Getting married amongst the forest supports the incredibly significant conservation work: reversing the decline of our iconic kiwi for one! Sarah and Vince were my wonderful real-life couple for this wedding shoot. Thanks so much guys xx

#2 Wairarapa wedding photographer: Nickie and Bryn's relaxed shindig

Nickie and Bryn's wedding was an absolute delight to be a part of. My favourite, genuine moment captured was this one just after the ceremony ended. The genuine joy and emotion from Nickie's two adult son's was just beautiful. They were so incredibly happy that their mum was marrying the man of her dreams.

#1 Elope to the Country: wedding in New Zealand

Fran and Aydan eloped to the country in Marton. They had originally planned to get married overseas, but entered the competition to win a wedding so they could share their special day with family and friends. And that they certainly did!

I hope you've enjoyed this look back at your five favourite blog posts of 2019. Here's to an even more exciting 2020!

Lots of love, Sarah x
