in Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough.
WHAT IS DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY?
Documentary photography captures what naturally occurs in front of the camera, without direction,
staging or posing. It is not forced or fake.
This style of photography tells your story through the capture of real moments. It documents events you would normally do on that day, even if the photographer wasn't there.
Memories are expertly documented through the photographer's people skills; emotional intelligence; years of experience; use of composition and light; observation, patience and anticipation.

Wedding
Sarah is nothing short of amazing. Both David and I are naturally quieter people, who prefer to be in the background. The thought of having someone follow us on our wedding day to take photos was daunting, but we should have never let those thoughts cross our mind with Sarah as the photographer.
Once we met her at the engagement session, we honestly couldn't wait for the wedding day. She enabled two hopeless romantics who didn't even want to hold hands, to be one's who were so comfortable and looking forward to having Sarah there. She felt more like a friend sharing the day.
She let us just go about our day, and was quietly in the background capturing it naturally as it unfolded. We have so many special photos of loved ones.

Day in the life
We are the sort of people who possibly aren’t so big on posed photography, especially my partner. So this style suited us to the ground. Sarah has a fabulous way of “blending in” while being warm, approachable and friendly.
Our two young children were completely at ease and just treated her like one of the family. No mission was too great as we wandered about the farm and through the mud.
These sorts of images capture the real life, day to day memories that we often forget as time passes by. It is a true blessing to have these for us all to look back on, especially when the kids get older.
We cannot thank you enough Sarah for a wonderful, calm and peaceful experience.
